My journey

I grew up in New Orleans in a large, close-knit family. I moved to New York’s Hudson Valley to attend Bard College, where I majored in Philosophy with a specialization in sport and exercise. I even published academic work in this field, focusing on the intersection of physical movement, identity, and human flourishing.

In 2022, I relocated to New York City to expand my career and fitness practice. Living across such different environments (New Orleans, Hudson Valley, NYC) has shaped the way I approach health, community, and self-development.

My fitness story

Ironically, I had no real interest in fitness before college. Coming from a city like New Orleans, where the food is incredible, adjusting to college dining was rough. I lost about 20 pounds in a few short months. A friend suggested I try working out to boost my appetite. I hated the idea at first. But once I started training consistently at Bard’s Athletic Center, something shifted. I not only regained my strength, I built a new relationship with my body … and my friends and family started asking me to teach them too!

What started with a few workouts turned into something bigger. In 2015, I founded a calisthenics club, which eventually led to me proposing and launching Bard College’s first-ever physical wellness program.

Since then, I have trained a wide range of people, including beginners looking to move better, community members managing chronic conditions, and athletes working on strength and mobility.

Today, my mission is simple: to help people reconnect with their bodies, redefine what strength means for them, and build long-term habits that support resilience both inside and outside the gym.
